The wind turbine generator is designed with a 3-bladed pitch regulated wind turbine with variable speed. The loads are calculated with the following rotor blades: ae2.5-50.3 acc. to GL/IEC type class TC3A ae2.5-46.9 acc. to GL/IEC type class TC2A+ (extreme wind speeds of TC1) The drive train and all other main components are designed for synchronous and asynchronous operation. The whole wind turbine generator will be defined in two different configurations for the diverging ambient conditions "normal"/"hot" and "cold climate". The hot and cold climate version will be failsafe against sandstorms. The wind turbine generator can be designed with a synchronous as well as with an asynchronous generator.
